West Side Story

Tony-winning director Ivo Van Hove (A View From the Bridge) reworks this modern-day Romeo & Juliet, stripping the 1960s trapping from the story. The show follows two gangs who battle to control their turn in New York's Hell's Kitchen. The situation gets complicated when one gang member falls for the sister of the other gang's leader.

For the first time, the Jerome Robbins choreography is re-imagined, and this production is more violent, intensely physical and aggressive than the original.

The book is by Arthur Laurents, with music by Leonard Bernstein and lyrics by Stephen Sondheim.
