The Play That Goes Wrong

This slapstick comedy, born in a pub, is about an amateur acting troupe's disastrous attempt to perform a 1920s murder mystery. The accident-prone actors include an unconscious leading lady, a corpse that can't play dead, and actors who trip over everything, including their lives. Ben Brantley of the NYTimes called it "a gut-busting hit."The show won the UK's 2015 Olivier Award as Best New Comedy. The Sunday Mail's theatre critic gave it a rave review, stating, "I have seldom, if ever, heard louder or more sustained laughter in a theatre," and The New York Times called it a "gut-busting hit."
