Girl From The North Country

This new musical, created by the iconic songwriter/singer Bob Dylan and Olivier-winning playwright Conor McPherson, is set in a ramshackle rooming house in Duluth, Minnesota in the Great Depression. The production features 20 of Dylan's classic songs including "Like a Rolling Stone," "A Hard Rain's A-Gonna Fall," "Slow Train" and "Idiot Wind."

The characters include the rooming house owner (Stephen Bogardus), who is on the edge of financial ruin; his wife (Mare Winningham), who has dementia; an alcoholic son; and an adoptive daughter who is pregnant and unmarried.

The show had acclaimed, sold-out runs in London and at the NY Public Theatre. The NYTimes described the off-Bway production as a "haunting musical melodrama of unmoored lives" and noted: "You may find yourself thinking that this is as close as mortals come to heaven on Earth. And for just a few, infinitely precious moments, a radiance eclipses the all-devouring night."
