Set in Northern England in the mid 60s, Martin McDonagh's sublimely creepy black farce is about Harry Wade, a former hangman and now a pub owner, who is forced to confront his past when the UK abolishes hanging.

The work won the Best Play Olivier in 2016. Ben Brantley of the NY Times praised the play as "a sly throat-dripping mystery directed with gleaming precision and grinning relish."

The production of McDonagh's The Beauty Queen of Leenane won four Tonys. Three Billboards Outside Ebbing, Missouri, a film that he wrote and directed, won four Golden Globes and has been nominated for several Oscars including Best Picture and Best Screenplay.
