This show arrives after a old-out run off-Bway that won rave reviews. The New York Times said: "A superb new musical with great heart and humor." And the Washington Post called it "Theatrical magic of a special magnitude! Musical storytelling of the highest caliber! It belongs in that pantheon of musicals that lovers of the form seek to experience over and over."
The story follows Evan, a charming but friendless high school kid crippled by anxiety, who feels invisible to his peers, the girl he has a crush on, and his own mother. When a letter he writes falls into the hands of a classmate who subsequently commits suicide, a well-meant lie embroils him in another family's sadness and a social media frenzy follows, catapulting Evan into the spotlight.
Benj Pasek and Justin Paul (Dogfight, A Christmas Story) wrote the songs, and Michael Greif (Rent, Next to Normal) directs. Please note: Front Orch and Mezz prices vary daily. Call for price quote.
