Mean Girls

Roxie Hart. Evita. Mrs. Lovett. Mama Rose. Every great musical has one. This musical adaptation of Tina Fey's 2004 dark comedy, which starred Lindsay Lohan as a high school transfer student struggling to navigate teenage social cliques, arrives in the spring.

The show tells the story of sweet and na?ve Cady Heron, who after years of living with her zoologist parents in Africa, moves to Illinois and has to learn to contend with a group of malicious popular girls who rule the school.

Ms. Fey wrote the book, based on her screenplay. Her husband, three-time Emmy-winner Jeff Richmond (30 Rock, Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt), wrote the music, and lyrics are by Nell Benjamin (Legally Blonde). Tony-winner Casey Nicholaw (The Book of Mormon, Something Rotten) will direct and choreograph.
