Children of a Lesser God

This revival of the groundbreaking play about the romantic relationship between a normal-hearing new teacher at a school for the deaf and the school's one-time star student who has avoided venturing out into the hearing world, is directed by Tony-winner Kenny Leon (A Raisin in the Sun).

When the show opened in 1980 it ran for more than two years, winning three Tonys. It was adapted into a 1986 film starring Marlee Martin, who won an Oscar for her performance, and William Hurt.

The New York Times described the play during its initial run as "deeply engaging."
