Choir Boy

This play by Oscar-winner Tarell Alvin McCraney (Moonlight) centers on a boys' prep school dedicated to the education of strong, ethical black men. When a flamboyantly gay student is named head of the school's gospel choir, tensions mount and he must find the courage to admit his homosexuality, which is pretty much an open secret.

Tony-winner Chuck Cooper and Bway vet Austin Pendleton reprise their role from an earlier off-Bway production. garnered positive reviews. The NYTimes noted that the play, filled with gospel music, is "vivid, magnetic and moving."

Trip Cullman (Six Degrees of Separation, Significant Other) is the director.
